Production Supervisor. 10/95 - 12/97 and 6/98 - 8/99.
Responsible for the management of "Major Brands" and "Japan" focused factories within the Fabrication department. Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including quality and productivity enhancement, waste reduction, safety improvement, equipment maintenance, personnel training and conformity to schedule. Together, the "Major Brands" and "Japan" factories consisted of ten (10) high speed, high efficiency production lines representing $150 million of invested capital, 29% of total plant capacity, and 33% of profits.
Directly supervised twenty-three production operators and indirectly supervised eight mechanics and electricians in a unionized environment. Concurrent capital improvement projects responsibilities included coordinating the installation, run-in and operation of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment.
Production Analyst. 1/98 - 6/98. (Temporary Assignment.)
Ensured functionality of production monitoring systems and data validity. Project Engineer for production monitoring system upgrade to Y2K compliance. Responsible for special projects related to all areas of the manufacturing process. Developed the yearly ($45 million) budget for the Maintenance department. Ensured that off-site vendors fulfilled contractual requirements.
Maintained Federal (NRC) and Georgia (DNR) site licenses for radioactive materials used in measuring equipment, and submitted required reports. Audited in-house systems for regulatory compliance. Administered a $1.5 Million contract for on-site vendor support.
Silgan Containers Corporation. Production Supervisor
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. 10/94 - 10/95.
Responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of five (5) high speed, automated production lines, the direct supervision of eighteen (18) unionized workers, and manpower scheduling to meet production requirements.
Member of various process improvement teams: Implemented plant-wide statistical process control programs; Worked to reduce manufacturing process variability and increase throughput; Designed and implemented preventive maintenance programs.
Cambridge Springs, Pa. 8/93 - 10/94.
Supervision of the entire manufacturing process: material receiving; operation of two (2) high speed, automated production lines; the direct supervision of ten (10) unionized workers in an SPC environment; maintenance of all equipment; scheduling of manpower. Responsible for all Quality Assurance functions. Chairman of the safety committee.
